They are all unique and a treasure for any collector. The Astro Boy Care Bear is an UK exclusive, the Birthday Bear has a tummy of a cupcake that just isn’t “right”, the UK Charity Yellow Tendeheart is in pristine condition and unlike any variations I have seen…those eyes are unique (perhaps due to it coming from a collector in France), the Sunshine Bear with luscious lashes has a Cheer Bear belly emblem, and the Lucky Bear’s four leaf clover isn’t the right shade of green plus it is sticking out his tongue like Birthday Bear along with no winking right eye.All sales are final and sold as is due to the vintage used conditions. These Bears were made by a few different companies (not Kenner) for a group of UK charities. Their quality was not up to par with Kenner. This one has a separated (or two?) hair tuft/s. He doesn't have a tush tag. I don't think any of the later editions of these did have tags. This is one of the later ones that have a sewn-on belly heart. He has no writing on his heart button, but again, since these weren't made by Kenner, I don't know if he ever did. I am very careful with all of my items, keeping most of them in storage totes. VERY RARE, 1980's, vintage, maverick, Care Bear, I Love You. UK exclusively released. This special bear is a maverick, because it has the yellow fur of Birthday Bear or Funshine Bear, but has the tummy emblem of Tenderheart Bear which, usually has tan fur. The tummy emblem has the words "I LOVE YOU" embroidered. UK 1980's mavericks were not produced with Care Bear cloth tags. I Love You Bear is one of three charity designs. This 1980's Care Bear is in amazing vintage condition. Freckles are still present! Tummy emblem is bright, stitched tightly, and has no pulls. Hair lock is slightly matted. Care Bears heart tush logo is barely faded! Please, see photos for overall condition. Mavericks are bear versions that are singular and/or very unique, usually a cross between two Care Bears, a factory made anomaly, a blend of two character made as a limited edition for a charity event or a combination thereof.
This Limited Edition Maverick Care Bear version is shown on the Maverick Care bears website and is a SUPER RARE find. Only a very few exists and not many were produced. Iacquired this special bear for my personal collection over 30 years ago.
The first variant with the clip-on heart. (Note the different tummy shape.). Love You Bear has golden yellow fur and her Belly badge depicts a red heart with the words "I Love You" inside it. The letters of this version where written in white.
