Care Bear Sea Friend. Created jointly by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and TONKA in the 1980s, this is a rare care bear sold only in the UK and Australia. Size: About 34 cm (standing).
Both in excellent condition. Both bought over from the UK recently. From my personal collection which I displayed on a shelf and have never been played with.
Rare vintage 80s Sea Friend Care Bear. This is one of the UK only released bears. This Bear is in excellent vintage condition. There are no notable flaws. The tummy icon stitching is without pulls. There are no scratches or injuries to the eyes or nose. The logo is in tact on the red tush heart and writing on white laundry tags is present and readable. See photos and ask any questions you may have. Great deal for such a rare and terrifically conditioned bear!
This is an authentic vintage 1980s UK exclusive "I Love You" Bear from Care Bears. All embroidery, ink, seams, and tag appear to be intact. No stains. No smells, but if you're particularly sensitive, please let me know and I can ask a sensitive friend to give it a whiff. Fur texture is about 9/10, with the back of the head being especially soft still. Background: The tush tag is different from common Care Bears because it was produced as part of a promotion outside of normal sale, separate from Kenner bears. That also explains the different tummy shape, chest badge, and lack of tush heart. This version, with the plastic chest badge instead of an embroidered belly badge, appears to be less common. The carrying case is missing some pieces such as the swing and teeter-totter. Half of the graphic at the top is missing. Some minor dings and scratches on the outside. (Please see the pics of the clouds) Some of the inside graphics are peeling back but is there. (I have not attempted to glue it back down). The Cloud car works well and "clicks" when it is rolling.
