This Care Bear is not found anywhere on a list of known Care Bear characters. It has the same features as a traditional Care Bear including the heart on the butt and a tag. It is in good condition The tag says, “Play Along: Sample Not for Resale” Play Along Toys held the licensing for Care Bears in 2000 and the tag carries the PlayAlong Logo. Play Along also held the licensing for the Doodle Bear, which is what this Care Bear appears to be a cross of. This Bear was made from another Bear based on a photo of a prototype Treat Heart. He is actually a mishmash of that one and another maverick I've seen. He has hand-painted bright blue eyes, a new belly, patch, snout, ears, and a fun bendable squiggly pig tail. He's like a whole new Bear. I put a lotta-lot of work into these without much reward. I do what I like; I like what I do. Treat Heart was never actually released as a plush in 1984 with the other Cousins. There were a few different prototype samples produced. The only one I ever saw for sale sold for over $7000. He has been hand cleaned sanitized using a damp rag with hand sanitizer. eBay This vintage early 1980s Kenner 6" Cheer Care Bear prototype / maverick plush is a must-have for any collector or fan of Care Bears. I bought this item from a toy fair whom said he got it from a former Kenner employee. The color is very bright and unique! Eyes were clearly hand painted. Was made without a wash tag. Red Care Bears heart also looks (lettering doesn't look exact) and feels (doesn't feel as polished) unique when compared to the normal ones. Fur also feels like it has a slightly different texture. I have included a lot of pictures comparing it to a regular 6'' cheer bear with wash tag to this one and 1 picture comparing it to a 6'' Love-a-lot bear - so the differences may be seen a bit more clearly. The bear is in great shape and has been well-preserved over the years. This Cheer Bear would make a great addition to any collection.Will be shipped in a padded envelope unless you request otherwise.
