VERY RARE, 1980's, vintage, maverick, Care Bear, I Love You. UK exclusively released. This special bear is a maverick, because it has the yellow fur of Birthday Bear or Funshine Bear, but has the tummy emblem of Tenderheart Bear which, usually has tan fur. The tummy emblem has the words "I LOVE YOU" embroidered. UK 1980's mavericks were not produced with Care Bear cloth tags. I Love You Bear is one of three charity designs. This 1980's Care Bear is in amazing vintage condition. Freckles are still present! Tummy emblem is bright, stitched tightly, and has no pulls. Hair lock is slightly matted. Care Bears heart tush logo is barely faded! Please, see photos for overall condition. eBay This is not an original Bear. I patterned him after a "Made in Spain" maverick that I saw in pictures. He has a new hand-sewn belly using a Birthday Bear patch, his eyes have been re-done, his nose re-painted, and a tongue added. This is not a factory-made item. It is a OOAK item that may have flaws unique to it. Factories aren't flawless either (hence our wonderful mavericks :-)). I call him, "Love-A-Su Cumpleanos Bear." He says that he knows that he is an imposter, but he'd still love to make your birthday bright (at a third of the price of that other Bear). eBay This vintage early 1980s Kenner 6" Cheer Care Bear prototype / maverick plush is a must-have for any collector or fan of Care Bears. I bought this item from a toy fair whom said he got it from a former Kenner employee. The color is very bright and unique! Eyes were clearly hand painted. Was made without a wash tag. Red Care Bears heart also looks (lettering doesn't look exact) and feels (doesn't feel as polished) unique when compared to the normal ones. Fur also feels like it has a slightly different texture. I have included a lot of pictures comparing it to a regular 6'' cheer bear with wash tag to this one and 1 picture comparing it to a 6'' Love-a-lot bear - so the differences may be seen a bit more clearly. The bear is in great shape and has been well-preserved over the years. This Cheer Bear would make a great addition to any collection.Will be shipped in a padded envelope unless you request otherwise.
